The DoorStop X Security Suite is an integrated, comprehensive approach to securing your Macintosh (and iPhone!) on the Internet. Here's a typical scenario showing how the components of the Suite work together to help you protect your machine while at the same time learning about and understanding the concepts and issues involved.
Protect. An access attempt from the Internet to a particular service on your Mac (in this case, Personal File Sharing) is blocked and logged by the DoorStop X Firewall.
- The log entry and associated information are immediately flagged and highlighted by Who's There?, in an intuitive, easy-to-read format.
- Understand. You can delve more deeply into details of the accessed service both from within Who's There? and by using Who's There? to view the relevant sections from "Internet Security for Your Macintosh and iPhone".
- You can also check DoorStop X's protection for the accessed service within Who's There? and, if needed, invoke DoorStop X to change the protection for that service.
- Learn. Finally you can browse through the book to learn more about related security issues, either from DoorStop X or Who's There? or using the included standalone PDF version. And you can check the book's blog, ISFYM.COM, Twitter stream and Top 10 list, for any related up-to-the-minute issues. You can even search directly from DoorStop X and Who's There?
Open Door Networks has been securing the Mac since 1998 and Mac OS 8. We literally wrote the book on Internet security.
